Some pictures

I played with polymer clay last Wednesday. My goal was to explore textures that couldn't be done, or at least couldn't be done easily with metal. Here are some photos. I really like how the first texture came out. I want to explore it some more in clay before thinking about it in metal.

  1. I really appreciate that you are testing out these materials and textures. Will there be a way for you to replicate these new shapes in metal later on? can you define to yourself what it is that you are discovering here and how it ties to your investigation of "holes" and negative spaces?
Also, i was just looking again at Smithson's work in another context, and think his work will be extremely worthwhile for you to look at. His early as well as his later work will be relevant for you!
